These two hours focus on awakening: really living rather than simply being alive. Approximately 60% spoken word and 40% music, Wake Up! is about engaging with your senses, learning new things, gaining understanding, pushing your boundaries, and increasing your happiness. Chock-full of good music, thought-provoking statements, environmental news, and readings, interviews, or radio plays, this show is constantly being improved as listener feedback is integrated. When I went to Security Services at 7am to get the keys to the station (yeah, I was running late--stayed up till 1am working on an assignment....), my name was no longer on the security list. Thus, I could not get keys, and could not get in the station, and could not share nifty information from a few Aboriginal-info books I've been reading, a short story my friend recommended I read on air, and some wisdom from that same friend. July 10th and 17th shows will be pre-recorded; the 10th one featuring the Joanna Macy interview I did, in the second half, and the 17th one hopefully mainly comprised of a Winona LaDuke talk.
